TITLE(s): MANAGER, BAKERY (bakery products)
Directs and coordinates activities involved with production, sale, and distribution of bakery
products: Determines variety and quantity of bakery products to be produced, according to orders and
sales projections. Develops budget for bakery operation, utilizing experience and knowledge of
current market conditions. Directs sales activities, following standard business practices. Plans
product distribution to customers, and negotiates with suppliers to arrange purchase and delivery of
bakery supplies. Implements, through subordinate managerial personnel, policies to utilize human
resources, machines, and materials productively. Hires and discharges employees. May train
subordinates in all phases of bakery activities. May manage bakery that produces only specialty
products, such as bagels or pastries. May manage bakery that sells products to general public. May
prepare bakery products.
