Tends equipment that pumps aluminum hydrate from secondary thickeners through wash tanks to storage tanks: Turns valves to regulate amount of hydrate flowing into thickeners and washing tanks to maintain specified density of hydrate. Adjusts valves and pumps to transfer hydrate from secondary thickeners through wash tanks into seed storage tanks. Tests sample of hydrate to determine its density, using hydrometer. Lubricates valves and adjusts packing glands to prevent leaks. Keeps operating log.
