Tends vacuum pan to wash and dry crystallized tetryl powder for further processing into explosives: Opens release valve to transfer tetryl from crystallizer to vacuum pan. Fills pan with warm water and turns suction valve to draw off liquid and dissolved impurities, leaving powder to settle in felt bag. Shovels and scrapes powder into tub on handtruck. May scrape powder into trays and place trays in drying chambers.
