TITLE(s): SUPERVISOR, FINISHING (furniture)

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in applying finishing coats of liquid mixture of paint, varnish, solvent, and stain to wood furniture surfaces and rubbing and polishing surfaces to desired luster: Reviews work tickets to plan production schedules. Confers with supervisors of other departments to coordinate flow of materials and products. Determines finishing materials required for operations and requisitions materials from supply area. Inspects finish of furniture at various stages to verify conformance to company standards. Trains new workers. May monitor pressure gauges and turn valves to adjust flow of finish material, such as stain, paint, or lacquer, to spray guns. Performs other duties as described under SUPERVISOR (any industry) Master Title.
